Connection and community are important, and when kids are on summer break away from their classrooms and teachers, it can be hard to recreate a warm and inviting classroom environment amongst new people and new experiences. That’s where West Point Grey Academy Summer Camps and Summer School Scholars programs come in. West Point Grey Academy focuses on community connection in all aspects of learning and playing, and that extends to their summer programming, which welcomes current students, prospective students, and families from the community to join the exceptional programs offered on campus. Choose from Summer Camps for grades K – 9 or a new Summer School Scholars for grades 10 – 12.

Situated on the beautiful Jericho Lands, the unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm(Musqueum), sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil Waututh), and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nations, place-based learning begins at the youngest levels and is intertwined in all programs, providing an enriching and engaging connection to the campus and the facilities available. With a view overlooking the ocean and ample forested areas, fields, tracks, and playgrounds, campers enrolled in Summer Camps and Summer Scholars will have access to plentiful outdoor exploration in addition to thoughtfully-designed curriculum created and delivered by exceptional WPGA educators.

Summer School Scholars:

A new experience offered exclusively by West Point Grey Academy for Summer 2025 is the BC First Nations 12 course, entitled Honouring Stories and Histories. In this course, students will earn their graduation-required Indigenous Education credit in a holistic format that blends in-class engagement, experiential learning, and independent online study. This program is open to students from any school that have successfully completed Social Studies 10. In BCFP12, students will complete the curriculum while gaining a deep and meaningful understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and perspectives. The program format allows for flexibility and space for reflection; students will spend 3 half-days on campus at West Point Grey Academy learning through engaging and interactive lessons, followed by a full day of field trips designed for experiential learning. Some of the field trips include visits to Steveston Fishing Village, Richmond Shipyards, the Museum of Vancouver, the Maritime Museum, the 15th Field Artillery Regiment, and more. Each Friday, students will work from home on independent studies delivered through Google Classroom.
