Battle those cold, dreary months with lessons designed to foster creativity, courage, and success! Stagecoach Vancouver North Shore has decades of experience providing exceptional performing arts education that kids and parents rave about.
It’s never too early or too late to begin lessons at Stagecoach Vancouver North Shore! Whether your child is stepping on the stage for the first time or is a seasoned performer, Stagecoach lessons in the three disciplines of musical theatre- singing, dancing, and acting- are supportive and transformational. The benefits of performing arts are endless; through lessons at Stagecoach, children and youth develop their confidence, a strong sense of self, social awareness, and strength as they learn proper breath control for public speaking and performance. These skills transfer far beyond the stage and into every facet of their life to help them become more self-aware and confident individuals. With direct instruction from passionate and dedicated professionals, students work in small groups to develop their skills in performing arts through games and performance-based activities. Children and youth will develop meaningful friendships with their peers as they engage in activities designed to build social skills and take risks in a supportive environment.
In the Early Stages program (ages 4-6), children learn singing, dancing, and acting in a nurturing and vibrant atmosphere. Through play and using their imagination, these little performers build their strong voices and learn to work together. Early Stages lessons set preschoolers up for success and teach them the skills necessary for success once they reach school age. The classes are 1.5 hours long and run in the morning (9:30am-11am) or afternoon (2pm-3:30pm) weekly on Saturdays to provide families with flexibility.
Speaking skills become increasingly important once children enter school and are asked to speak in group settings and deliver presentations. In Main Stage lessons, children and youth ages 6-16 years old take a deep dive into performing arts education. During the 3-hour lessons, students will rotate between developing their movement technique, honing their vocal talent, and exploring dramatic expression and understanding of character and motivation. In doing so, students will expand their creativity and ability to express themselves on and off the stage. Lessons run on Saturdays from 10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm.
If your child *loves* being on stage and can’t get enough singing, dancing and acting, they will love the Further Stages program for youth ages 14+. This thrilling program intensifies their training while preparing them for future theatrical pursuits. Experienced instructors in the field will prepare students for professional auditions and post-secondary paths in performing arts through guidance and mentorship. Classes for Further Stages run on Saturdays from 11am-1:30pm
