Update for 2019: We’ve heard from Southlands and they are taking a break in 2019 to re-structure the fair for future years. Looking forward to what they have planned in 2020.
2019 marks the 18th anniversary of the Southlands Fall Fair. The Country Fair has become a popular annual tradition where families are invited to enjoy “a day in the country without leaving the city”. The day is packed with activities for everyone! The Fair features pony rides, petting farm, old fashioned games, spectacular equestrian entertainment by Southlands Riding Club members, a Silent Auction, a local arts and crafts market, heritage displays, farmers market, agricultural demonstrations, book sale, face painting, hay piles, bouncy horses, delicious food enjoyed outdoors, and much more!
Admission is by donation; suggested donation is $5. Some of the activities cost between $1 – $5 dollars. Parking is free but give yourself time as it can be challenging finding a spot. The earlier you arrive the easier it is to park. Also be prepared to walk. You are at a farm, so comfortable shoes are a must!
Every year, partial proceeds from the Fair go towards charities. This year proceeds will go towards the Southlands Riding Club Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Program, which rescues abandoned and abused horses and rehabilitates them so they can be re-homed as riding horses. The remainder of the funds are used to support the Southlands Riding Club, a non-profit society established in 1943 as a recreational and training facility for junior and amateur equestrian athletes.
