We can’t always predict the weather in Metro Vancouver, but rain or shine, indoor pools are a great way to stay active and burn off some energy! Whether you’re looking for a relaxing afternoon of floating down a lazy river, a thrilling good time zipping down a waterslide, or a fun play area for the littlest swimmers, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite family pools.

Richmond:

Watermania

When it comes to indoor fun, Watermania tops the list for family favourite pools. Boasting not one but TWO waterslides, a huge wave pool with interactive water features, and a tot slide, it’s easy to see why families flock to this indoor pool. Kids will love the water sprayers, the giant tipping buckets, and water wheels as well. Plus, there are ample options for diving, two whirlpools, and a large competition pool.

Surrey:

Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre

Families with big and small kids will love this fun pool that features a huge waterslide for thrill seekers, plus a shallow, gradual entry with interactive water toys for little swimmers. A special tot zone, plus a lazy river ensures there’s something for every age and swim level. If your kids are like mine and drawn to the hot tubs, families will love a ‘hot’ tub specifically designated for families (and one for adults only). Plus, Grandview Heights offers accessible features such as a portable lift, two aquatic wheelchairs, and an aquatic walker.

Newton Wave Pool

Dive into Surrey’s *only* wave pool for a full day of fun. Kids will enjoy the open and covered water slides (yes, multiple!) and the exciting water fortress with cannons, jets and sprays. The tot pool is the perfect place for little ones to enjoy the water without big waves or big kids getting in the way!

Vancouver:

Hillcrest Aquatic Centre

Convenience, fun events, and tons of toys make Hillcrest Aquatic Centre a favourite amongst families. During the summer months, families flock to the outdoor pool and spray park, and during the colder months, the indoor pool is one of the most popular in Vancouver. The leisure pool features a lazy river, sprayers, and tons of toys that kids can use while they are swimming. Plus the beach-style entry means everyone can enter slowly (and stay in the shallow water for longer if they need!)
