Last year the Aurora Winter Festival brought festive entertainment to Yaletown. This year, the family-friendly holiday events is bringing more than a million lights to the Pacific National Exhibition. Iconic Hastings Park provides the event with four times the amount of space, so guests can look forward to the tube park, and ice-skating surface being bigger and better than ever before. Outside of the expanded activities, guests can discover the four mystical worlds, the Land of Giants, Polar Passage, Luminous Gardens, and Whimsical Forest. The Aurora Winter Festival has everything from amusement rides, to live music, a variety of food trucks, and a market with 40 holiday-inspired vendors.
Once you are inside the gates of the Aurora Winter Festival a number of family-friendly are included with your admission pass. Head to the covered tents (right beside the ferris wheel) for live entertainment from local bands and Christmas choirs. The Disco Dome will have your kids grooving and bopping to holiday tunes. Just beside the dome is where you can experience Santa’s Storytime and actually have a chance to say hello to the superstar of the holiday season. Kids will love Candy Cane Lane, snowball slingshot, reindeer ring toss, giant checkers, massive tic tac toe, and crafts. The Mystical Worlds light display offers a winding walk through illuminated gardens. Some of the light installations are truly impressive.
