Kick off your child’s success with Fall lessons at Alliance Française Vancouver! Childhood is the best time to learn a new language because kids are better able to acquire new information and are enthusiastic about speaking with teachers and peers. In fact, by learning French at a young age, kids are more likely to pick up the necessary acquisition skills to succeed in all their academic classes at school and to go beyond the French programs offered at school.
Alliance Française Vancouver has been teaching children since 1904 and has expertise and excellence in teaching French. The mission of Alliance Française is to offer French-language education programs to all ages and at all levels, promote local and international francophone cultures and offer a welcoming space.
For 2023, Alliance Française Vancouver is offering after-school and weekend classes beginning September 5th for children and teens. The classes are organized by age (5-7 years | 8-10 years | 11 years & up) and by skill level within these groups ensuring that each child is enrolled in a class that is appropriate for age and skill level. Using a fun method called Les Loustics, students will engage in playful activities that increase their oral, reading and writing skills. All students will be assessed at the end of the course and given a certificate of achievement.
NEW this year are two courses that will appeal specifically to those who are already pursuing advanced study in their French language learning: DELF preparation and courses for those who are enrolled in French Immersion programs at school.
DELF Preparation courses are open to students ages 11 and up who are preparing to write their DELF examination. Students enrolled in this course will study with accredited examiners, have access to priority registration for the exam, and receive a 10% discount. Writing the DELF exam can open many doors for students who have attained this level of language acquisition as it has a lifelong validity and can be used as a credit towards grade 10-12 language requirements.
Advanced classes for French Immersion students are a great way to help your child progress past what is taught in the classroom. Experienced instructors will help students enrolled in French Immersion or those with an advanced level of French to extend their skill development in grammar and writing.
