Your little stars can get ready to clown around and enjoy a summer of circus fun, because Toronto Circus Centre (TCC) summer camps are back for another year! You’ll be amazed at what your children can achieve in these weekly camps. The kids learn numerous circus acts, including aerial trapeze, hoop, rope, and silks. Plus, they also have a great time with juggling, floor and partner acrobatics, and clowning. But the camps also include outdoor activities, such as garden and splash pad visits (weather permitting), so campers don’t miss out on traditional summer activities!

TTC summer camps are the perfect way for junior circus stars to be physically active while having fun in a non-competitive environment. Kids will jump, spin, fly, and laugh as they build confidence trying different activities and discovering new talents. Experienced coaches, who are professional circus artists from all disciplines, share the joy of training up-and-coming circus stars. They encourage kids to try every type of activity; campers can either diversify their interests or focus on the apparatus they are best suited to during these immersive sessions. Of course, you won’t want to miss their circus performance at the end of the week, displaying everything they’ve learned!

Toronto Circus Centre Summer Camp — Information (Ages 4½ to 13)

Toronto Circus Centre (TCC) summer Camps let kids spend their summer experiencing life under the Big Top! Located in Leaside at their newly renovated gym, the aspiring acrobats will tumble, swing, climb, and juggle, with plenty of time for clowning around.

While all the kids play together in the same gymnasium, TCC groups children with peers closest to their age range and skill level, for the students’ comfort level and skill advancement. Don’t worry if your child does not have previous experience, because everyone is welcome. TCC’s dedicated and experienced coaches can adjust their teaching to each child’s skill level. New students learn the basics while more experienced junior acrobats further their education and expand their circus repertoire.

However, even with all these circus activities, kids still get plenty of fresh air since they head outside every day to the adjoining garden for crafts and games. The fun-filled daily schedule includes extra indoor and outdoor activities (weather permitting), two snack times, and a lunch break. Even better, TCC can also accommodate requests to put friends together in the same group, so kids can spend a memorable summer with their buddies, while making new friends, too!

During each camp week, groups work toward building a show. Then, on Fridays at 4 PM, the week’s lessons culminate in a free end-of-week show for friends and family. The kids are always so proud to demonstrate what they have learned, so don’t miss out on seeing this inspiring and exhilarating event!

What to Pack

  • Long pants (leggings or jogging pants) and a fitted top for safety. (Note: Also for safety reasons, long hair should be tied back and campers should not wear jewelry.)
  • Refillable water bottle, including a nametag
  • Nut-free lunch and at least two snacks (Note: Since the camp is physically demanding, the campers get quite hungry so pack more food than they would normally take to school.)
  • Hat and swimsuit if your child wants to play at the splash pad on outings
  • Sunscreen (if used) for outdoor activities
