This festive season, families can feel the joy of the holidays at Casa Loma as their two special Christmas events return for another year of cheer! During the day, their Christmas at the Castle event features elegant holiday decorations throughout Toronto’s historic castle. In addition, both kids and kids at heart get the chance to drop by Santa’s toy workshop to wish the jolly fellow a Merry Christmas. Then, in the evenings, go on a festive adventure as you wander through the wintery scenes after dark at the Holiday Lights Tour. There, you will find dazzling light displays across the castle grounds and its landscaped gardens and mysterious tunnels, all set aglow with shimmering radiance.
Christmas at the Castle
Spend your holiday season celebrating at Toronto’s renowned historic building at Casa Loma’s Christmas at the Castle event! Families can take part in the holiday magic found throughout this impressive mansion, including a wide range of activities for every member of the family. There are festive crafts to create, wintery holiday mascots to encounter and thrilling performances to see. Plus, no visit is complete without a visit to the Carriage Room to meet Santa in his toy workshop, but only until Christmas Eve, of course!
Casa Loma is especially picture-perfect at this time of year, where you will find a collection of Instagrammable holiday-themed spaces outside in the garden. Inside, the always awe-inspiring castle is particularly glorious, decked out with festive décor and light displays. Its most prominent area, the aptly named Great Hall, features a 40-foot tall tree, plus eight more signature trees by talented Canadian designers.
Holiday Lights Tour
After sundown, the stunning landscaped gardens of Casa Loma transform into a winter wonderland with the spectacular Holiday Light Tour, filled with brilliant lights and joyous merriment. An immersive experience for all ages, this beloved landmark puts on a show with its dramatic property decorated for the festive season.
Stroll through the grounds at your own pace and marvel at the dazzling lighting displays in the gardens. Families are also welcome to come in from the cold to explore the castle’s extensive walkways and tunnels. There, you find more spectacular decorations and amazing live performances. As always, like their daytime event, families can also visit Santa in his castle workshop!
Upgrade Option
Check out both of Casa Loma’s Christmas events! When you purchase tickets through the Ticketweb site, first select your Christmas at the Castle tickets and then add Holiday Lights Tour as an optional upgrade upon checkout. Otherwise, guests require different tickets to attend both events.
Holiday Lights VIP Experience (Admits 2)
For an exceptional date night idea, there is also an optional VIP Experience, which includes admission for two people, as well as perks such as by-passing the line, one food and beverage voucher per person, and a gift bag.
Ticket Details
- Tickets are non-refundable; however, they can be exchanged for a new date (subject to availability).
- Children 3 and under are free when they are accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
- The Holiday Lights Tour does not include access to the interior of Casa Loma other than marked areas.
- Tickets to Christmas at the Castle do not include access to the lower gardens and Holiday Lights displays, except through the upgrade option.
- The Holiday Lights Tour is not able to accommodate strollers.
Event Details
The Holiday Lights Tour entrance is on the southwest corner of the property at Davenport Road and Walmer Road. Be aware that this event takes place primarily outdoors, except for the castle tunnels, and also requires walking approximately two kilometres.
Parking Information
Casa Loma has limited paid parking onsite with a flat rate of $20 per vehicle (note: parking is now cashless, with only credit or debit payment accepted). The East Parking lot is only open for general parking after 5:00pm daily. There is also additional paid parking near the Holiday Lights entrance at George Brown College (south of Casa Loma, off Macpherson Avenue).
