Bring your family and celebrate in the streets of one of Toronto’s family-friendly neighbourhoods at the 45th Annual Cabbagetown Festival! One of the city’s longest-running and most beloved free festivals, it features over 250 local vendors, live music performances, street performers, delicious food trucks, and more.
With over 250 vendors, the Cabbagetown Festival takes over the busy intersection of Parliament Street and Carlton Street for two days, with a packed schedule of entertainment and fun for all ages. Founded in 1976, this award-winning street festival displays community spirit, diversity, and history. Thereâs truly something for everyone to enjoy, whether youâre looking for mouthwatering food, unique shopping, energetic performances, or you just want to soak in the atmosphere! Of particular interest to families is the free and fun Kid’s Zone, including entertainment, bouncy castles, games, craft tables, balloons and face painting.
Keep the Little Ones Entertained at the Kids Zone!
The always-popular Kids Zone returns with kid-friendly performances plus games and activities designed just for them! Located on Carlton Street, between Parliament and Ontario, the stage program includes live music, magic acts, reptile shows and more. In addition, the free activity zone features bouncy castles, craft tables, balloons, face painters and stilt walkers.
Don’t Miss the Family-Friendly Closing Parade!
One of the most anticipated events is the annual Closing Parade, taking place on Sunday evening to mark the grand finale of the festival. Led by local Afro-Brazilian samba reggae percussion ensemble TDot Batu, the lively parade is open for all festival-goers to take part! On the other hand, if you’d prefer to appreciate the festivities from the sidelines instead, the community parade runs up Parliament Street, starting at Gerrard and ending at Wellesley, ending with a huge dance party.
