The Halifax Theatre for Young People presents Brundibár – the story of children who sing in the marketplace to raise money for their sick mother, but are chased away by the organ player, Brundibár. With the help of animal and bird friends, as well as other children, good defeats evil and the children continue to sing.
Despite the background of its creation, in German-occupied Prague in the year 1938, the opera itself is light-hearted and is a very special piece that contains an educational component at the end. This 40-minute production is suitable for children of all ages and is performed by children.
