A new month is upon us and the shortest month of the year has fun events for the whole family! February kicks off with Groundhog Day and Shubie Sam is making his prediction of whether we can expect spring to arrive soon, or if winter will be sticking around for 6 weeks. We also have lots to celebrate in February including African Heritage Month, Valentine’s Day, and Nova Scotia Heritage Day.
With the days getting longer and winter in full swing, February is the best month to get out there and enjoy the wintery outdoors. Grab your skates and head to the Emera Oval, or if we ever get any snow, hop on a toboggan and check out the best places to sled the afternoon away!
Here is our month-at-a-glance which highlights some of the family-friendly events in February and if you are looking for upcoming events, the Family Fun Halifax calendar is continually being updated with the latest news. Also, each Wednesday, we publish our ‘Weekend Roundup’ – family-friendly Halifax events for the upcoming weekend. Happy February, everyone!
