Are you crazy about mazes? Here is our round up of some of the best corn mazes and haunted walks within a short drive of Halifax.
Let’s start with the scary ones. Some farmer’s fields are full of  hopes and dreams but  The Bloodfields at Riverbreeze Farm, just outside of Truro, is full of corpses and screams!  Deemed as one of the scariest and best value for fright mazes in Nova Scotia, those of you who like being frightened half to death are going to love the high theatrics of this one.  Riverbreeze Farm also has a family farm and daytime maze including  jumping pillows, pony rides, cow train rides, pumpkin picking, pig races and lots more!
Haunted Hollow is haunted walk only a short drive away from Halifax in Hammonds Plains, and offers a nightmare nature trek you will never forget.
The Nights of Gore Haunted Corn Maze is on Courthouse Hill in Gore, Highway 202, near Kennetcook. By night, they offer a horrifying nighttime maze and haunted house… but during the daytime, you’ll find a day maze and and u-pick, suitable for families.  Creepy!
For good clean family fun, Noggin’s Farm Corn Maze, in the Annapolis Valley,  has more than just apples. They also have a corn maze, a nighttime flashlight maze, and a haunted house, with all proceeds going to the Red Cross.
New to the scene is Captain Cobs Crazy Corn Maze at Masstown Market, which opened last year. This venue offers an incredible combination of maze, playground and jump pad (you know, one of those HUGE mattress things that kids just love to leap around on?). Plus, there is a very nice fish n’ chip shop there too. If you are passing through Masstown on your Thanksgiving travels, make sure you stop here.
Whether you decide to scare yourself silly or play it safe, here are some tips to get the best out of the fall season:
- Confirm opening hours with the farm’s website before you go
- Check whether the maze is cash only
- Wear sensible shoes: a corn maze is no place for stilettos!
Have an a-mazing time! 🙂
