She’s a woman who needs no introduction. Jamie Sale is a legendary Canadian athlete, an Edmonton entrepreneur, a life coach, philanthropist, wife and mother. But success hasn’t gone to her head – she’s humble, hardworking, community-minded and remarkably conscious of how she got to where she is today.
Do I sound like a bit of a fan girl? I admit I am – but it’s hard not to be! I followed Jamie’s illustrious career through the unprecedented events of the Salt Lake City Olympics and beyond. Today, I enjoy seeing her life through social media and the adventures she has as a mom, business owner (she is part owner of Sweet Pea Cafe and Playhouse, and runs her own business Jamie Sale Life Coaching) and community supporter. (Special Olympics is among the many organizations to which she lends her name and time.)

Jamie was kind enough to agree to be the third Celebrity Mom featured in YEG MOMS YAK! She talks about what she and husband Craig Simpson like best about the city and the places they go as a family with children Sammy, 6 and Jesse, 11.
What makes this area great for raising a family?
We love Edmonton because it has a wonderful sense of community and local support. We have incredible families in our lives! We also feel there is a lot to do here for families.

What are your favourite Edmonton places to visit and things to do with your family?
We love going on family bike rides on our trails. We enjoy places like the TELUS World of Science Edmonton and the Royal Alberta Museum. Our kids love playing at the Royal Glenora Club and the Derrick Club as well.
What are your kids’ favourite Edmonton places to visit and things to do?
Our kids love playing at both clubs and they love playing in our local parks. They really love being by the water and at the dog parks.
