The excitement builds as you approach St. Albert’s Enjoy Centre – the lights inside are so colourful and bright you can see them as you approach! Our night at the brand new ELF Edmonton was nothing short of magical! If you are adding this event to your holiday to-do list (and I highly recommend you do!), here are 8 magical, must-do activities at the Enjoy Light Festival!
1. Play Inside a Snow Globe
It’s one of the first things you’ll see inside ELF and an experience you won’t find anywhere else! Kids can go inside this inflatable dome and dance around with giant clear bubbles. It’s a brilliant photo opportunity too!
2. Run Through a Rainbow!
One does not simply stroll into ELF – one must run at top speed down the rainbow light tunnel. (and back, ideally.) At least, those are the rules according to my almost-five-year-old dates.
3. Photo Booth Fun!
The ELF photo booths are outstanding. Easy to use, quick and with decent photo quality! Simply choose the photo station you want to try (they are clearly marked!), pick your photo style (you can stick with a basic photo or get creative with boomerangs, backgrounds and more!), touch a button, take your pic, and send it off to your phone by text or email!
4. Warm Winter Wonderland!
Check out the igloo domes with giant “ice” blocks, the arctic creatures, and see if you can find the place where the snow falls indoors! There’s something magical about getting to play in the glow of Christmas lights without having to wear six layers!
5. Make New Friends!
Sit with Santa – he’ll be at ELF every day up to Christmas! You can also meet exciting guests that pop by from time to time. We had the chance to see Mickey, Minnie, Pikachu, Wreck It Ralph and our favourite, the Global Robot!
6. All Aboard!
You simply must ride the train – and I recommend doing it early to get a good overview of the layout and activities you will want to check out!
7. Play All Day
The LED light up swings, teeter totter and glass-block hopscotch course were the favourites among my daughters! Swings are great for sharing, or ideal for little ones who want to stretch out. There are several teeter totters and some are big enough that even grown ups can get in on the fun! The colour-changing hopscotch course was a crowd favourite!
8. Burn Off Energy
Still have energy left after hitting the LED playland? You simply must check out Little’s Land! In it you’ll find three bouncy castles, a climbing area, a hopping reindeer corral and many more fun activities! There are plenty of tables and chairs for weary parents to rest – and don’t snooze on the photo opps in this room. The pop-out chimneys were our favourite!
This is just our list of must-do activities at the Enjoy Light Festival. What did YOUR family like best?
