Find kid-sized fun with Alberta Safety Council’s Scooter Sessions at Kiwanis Safety City! Book a session this Summer for your child to explore this unique miniature city aboard a fleet of battery-powered quads. It is an exciting and interactive way for your 4 to 7 year old to learn more about road safety!
Kiwanis Safety City is one of our city’s most popular field-trip destinations for the early elementary-aged crowd and for good reason. Kids feel right at home in this scaled-down city filled with playhouse-like buildings, operational traffic lights, and railroad and pedestrian crossings. Many of the buildings are modeled after local businesses or organizations that most children will be excited to recognize as they drive past.
Scooter Sessions at Safety City offer the perfect balance of in-class and hands-on learning. Each session will start with a 15-minute classroom presentation on the 7 Steps of Road Safety, followed by the opportunity to put what they’ve learned into practice driving through the miniaturized traffic and pedestrian site. Your child will quickly become a junior expert on driving and the rules of the road during their 45 minutes on the motorized scooters!
Scooter Sessions will be offered on select weekdays during the months of July and August, with the choice of two different time slots:
- Morning | 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Each Scooter Session is $8.40 per participant. With Safety City’s top priority being safety, participants are required to bring a CSA approved helmet and weather appropriate clothing to ride.
You can reserve your spot online through the Alberta Safety Council website or by calling Safety City at (780) 462-7300. Sessions are limited to 15 children per time slot and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
