The Head Ringmaster has gotten in over his head and is looking for assistance to make his carnival spectacular. Can you help him find all the magical ticket booths as you meander through the whimsical merry-go-rounds, lively circus animals, dazzling acrobats, and cascading lights? This spectacular indoor lights experience is an annual holiday tradition for many Edmonton families, with over 100,000 sq ft of twinkling holiday displays to discover inside the warmth and comfort of the indoors!
Each year Glow Edmonton is proud to present a new and exciting holiday theme! Christmas Carnival will be open Wednesday, December 4, 2024 to December 31, 2024 and will feature an exciting quest to help the Ringmaster (with prize!), Santa’s VR Sleigh Ride, an interactive Kids Fun Zone, live entertainment, and special character appearances. Be sure to check the full schedule to discover special events like a Swiftie-themed Red Christmas & Birthday Bash, the Royal Enchantment Christmas Ball, a Unicorn Wonderland Celebration, and the Glow without Limits sensory-friendly day.
Youngsters are going to love the Kids Zone complete with a whimsical indoor playground, Snowball Fun Zone with plush snowballs, and a brand-new Twinkle Tykes playland filled with soft blocks and ball pits for the tiniest tots. Festival favourite Glen the Glow-comotive will also return, offering trackless train rides to kids and kids at heart!
And, of course, no visit to Glow is complete without seeing the big man himself — Santa Claus! You’ll want to be sure your phone is fully charged so you can take a holiday photo with the Jolly guest of honour, as well as selfies galore in front of all the stunning light displays. Surround yourself with the million twinkling bulbs in the light gardens, swing on the ever-popular moon shaped LED swings, take a stroll through the brilliant light tunnel, and strike a pose in one of the hanging pictures frames. These are just a few of the many dazzling features Glow has to offer!
On the Glow Stage, guests of all ages can look forward to the wide variety of musical acts and live entertainment. Enjoy live music, character shows, comedic improv from Rapid Fire Theatre, and take a spin on the LED dance floor during the Friday night Rockin’ Reindeer Bash Dance Party! The joyful Christmas music will put you in the holiday mood as you peruse the Merry Makers Market, filled with one-of-a-kind items that are great for stocking stuffers, presents under the tree, and maybe even a little something for yourself.
You can also come hungry and satisfy everyone’s tastes with a visit to one of the food vendors. Poutine, grilled cheese, chicken fingers, and hot dogs are just a sample of the yummy carnival themed foods available for purchase. Be sure to top it off and toast the season with the wide selection of festive warm and cold drinks – in a signature souvenir Glow cup!
Glow believes in the importance of giving back and works with nonprofits in the community to spread extra cheer during the holiday season. This generous spirit has allowed many local families the opportunity to celebrate with Glow at no charge, and many local charities to receive monetary contributions from 100% of the coat check proceeds. This years charity partners include Kids Up Front, Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society, Stars Air Ambulance, Alberta Dreams, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Covenant Foundation, Autism Edmonton, Salvation Army, Edmonton Food Bank, Christmas Bureau of Edmonton and NALS. Tickets are on sale now for Glow Christmas Carnival from Wednesday, December 4 to Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Dates often sell out, especially on weekends, so don’t delay in purchasing today! Parking is plentiful and available onsite, and Glow at the Edmonton Expo Centre can also be accessed easily via the Coliseum LRT station.
