Elite is an Edmonton-based dance company owned by eight-time Canadian Ballroom and Latin champion, Dominic Lacroix. Dancers of all ages and abilities are invited to come discover Ballroom, Latin, ballet, hip-hop, country, and more while fostering self-discipline, respect, and teamwork. With a focus on teaching skills and dance steps in a fun and motivating format, many students consider Elite Dance Studio class to be the best part of their week!
Elite Dance Studio Fall Classes
Registration is open now for Fall session and full year classes starting in September 2024. Elite Dance Studio offers a wide variety of children’s group classes, in multiple genres, for all ages.
Hip-Hop
Kids’ hip-hop classes are offered for all skill levels and ages. The beginner program will get your kid lockin’, poppin’, breakin’, and more! Students will learn various hip hop elements and explore this groove-based style while dancing to popular music. They also offer Hip Hop Intermediate for those with previous dance experience.
Children who have previous hip hop experience and want an even bigger challenge can audition for year-long Hip Hop Performance classes that run from September to June. These classes allow students to have continuity in learning their genre of dance and provide the children opportunities to perform at dance festivals or other special events on top of the studio’s recitals.
Ballet
Pre-Ballet Classes let tiny dancers (2-4 years ) explore music, movement, balance, and basic dance steps alongside their favourite parent or caregiver. You can both enjoy learning together in this fun and interactive class!
Ballet Classes offer a fun introduction to basic ballet concepts. Dancers will work on flexibility, posture, coordination, and introductory choreography in a friendly environment.
Creative Movement
Creative Movement uses engaging dance-play to promote movement through music. This active class will introduce students to a variety of dance steps and motor movements, while helping them learn rhythm and gain greater body awareness.
Ballroom & Latin
Ballroom dance is Elite Dance Studio’s signature style. They offer classes in all ten ballroom and Latin dance styles.
Junior Latin & Ballroom is the perfect introduction for ages 4-6. Young dancers will have fun learning the basics including the Merengue, Chacha, Samba, Waltz, and Quickstep.
Youth Latin & Ballroom Beginner classes for ages 7+ focus on teaching some of the most popular ballroom dances including Cha Cha, Waltz, Quickstep, Rumba, and Samba. Partner work will be explored, but no partner is required for the class.
Competitor Ballroom Program
The Competitor Ballroom Program is available for children who have completed their Level 2 class and wish to pursue more extensive training. Training 3 days a week, these dancers prepare to compete throughout Western Canada.
