Have you ever been to an outdoor Summer fun event where the bouncy castle wasn’t the star of the show? Me neither. Bouncy castles have come a long way since I was a kid. The plain Jane square jump zone still exists, to be sure – but for today’s kids, the fun escalates rapidly from there! There are bouncy slides, bounce houses combined with ball pits, inflatable arcade games, and perhaps the most popular, bouncy obstacle courses.

Sherwood Park’s newest indoor fun centre features 7,000 square feet filled with a half-dozen or so of the BIG bouncy houses.

There are also carnival-style games (skee ball, basketball, ring toss and the like – all free to play!), hop-on animals, and even a couple of plasma cars.

We recently visited on a Friday afternoon in January, and while there were a handful of other families that came and went, the number of inflatables, at many times, outnumbered the kids! They had such a blast racing from activity to activity without the pesky lines that are ever-present at summer festivals.

Bouncin’ Around is set up in Sherwood Park’s Baseline Village, which will be its home until the end of April when the busy summer season pulls the inflatables back to their regular outdoor duties. The castles, slides, obstacle courses and games all rotate on a regular basis.

The facility is open 10 am to 9 pm, Tuesday through Sunday until April 30, 2020. Admission is $12 for kids 5 and under and $15 for kids 6 and up and play time is unlimited. Frequent visitors can get a punch card that offers a 6th visit for free, and daily deal specials are offered Tuesdays through Fridays on admission before 3 pm. They offer all the usuals – birthday parties, team building events, and even field trip bookings!

Know before you go:

  • Make sure you wear socks but leave accessories like jewellery at home.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the inflatable field. There are eating areas in the lobby.
  • Follow “Bouncin Around Alberta” on Facebook and Instagram to keep an eye on their weekday admission deals!
