Once on This Island: A Musical
From May 9 – 31, 2025, your family will be transported to the Caribbean with a highly original theatrical adaptation of The Little Mermaid. Ti Moune rescues a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. She falls in love with him, but his family shuns her because of her low status. The gods who preside over the island debate which is stronger, love or death, and Ti Moune’s life is at stake. This story explores what separates societies and what unites us as people.
Broadway World comments, “…this 1990 musical fairy tale set on a Caribbean island conjures a spell that is devastatingly timely yet affectingly timeless in its evocation of how love goes when the indifferent, capricious whims of gods and nature intervene in the deepest yearnings of the human heart.”
