Calgary Outdoor Swimming Pools: Mount Pleasant Outdoor Pool

I took my kids swimming at the Mount Pleasant outdoor pool a couple of weeks ago. I can’t think of anything my kids love to do more than play in the water. My son has finally mastered swimming on his own and my daughter loves jumping into the pool. She’s fearless. Calgary has a number of outdoor pools and we decided it would be a perfect way to enjoy being outdoors and doing what my kids love most…swimming!

The Mount Pleasant Outdoor Pool has a lane swimming section, large main pool and a toddler pool area.

We spent most of our time in the toddler pool area. There was a little slide my daughter went down at least a dozen times and my son liked searching for submerged treasure in the shallow water. The pool provided a number toys for kids including rubber duckies, diving toys and plastic mini watering cans.

There was also a big slide in the main section of the pool for older kids and adults.

Thankfully there is a concession stand where you can grab treats including soft drinks and ice cream and sit under the gazebo next to the pool. There are also tons of trees surround the pool providing plenty of shade.

One of the great things about this location is there is a nearby playground. I promised my kids we could go play at the park after we went swimming. It was the only way I was able to entice them to finally get out of the pool!
