Bow Habitat Station offers a unique setting where you can learn about and explore Alberta’s natural environment. Located in the heart of Calgary in Pearce Estate Park, Bow Habitat Station is made up of a visitor’s centre, the Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery, and the Pearce Estate Park Interpretive Wetland. From the beaver dam display that you can crawl into and the jaw-dropping 15000-litre fish aquariums to an award-winning film, the facility is sure to be a hit with the whole family. Fun for all ages!
Visitors to the Station may also visit the adjacent Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery—one of the largest enclosed fish hatcheries in North America. Approximately one million fish are raised at the hatchery each year for stocking Alberta’s lakes and rivers. You can also visit the Kids Can Catch Trout Pond where visitors can crawl through a beaver lodge in the Discovery Centre, feed thousands of trout in the Fish Hatchery, make a splash fishing in the Trout Pond, and connect with nature in the Interpretive Wetland.
The interpretive wetland in Pearce Estate Park showcases aquatic habitats found throughout Alberta’s streams, marshes, ponds and rivers, plus the wildlife and plant species that inhabit them.
