Author Bio:

Charity Burpee Quick can usually be found making coffee, reading by the fireplace, or wishing for a grand adventure. She loves to travel, write stories, and take pictures, especially when she can persuade her teenagers to come and play. Charity lives in Calgary with her husband and 3 kids, who sometimes decide they’re too old for Mom’s schemes and plans, but can usually be convinced to join the fun. When she’s not writing for Family Fun, Charity can be found at the public library, figure skating at the local rink, or playing with her piano.

October 2018 No longer being a young mom, and having three kids who are, shall we say, more spicy than sweet, we have seen our share of ups and downs. When we moved to Calgary, my kids were aged 5, 3, and 1, and the city quickly became home, a

Posted on: September 14, 2018

September 2018 The sun peered around the edge of a massive cloud casting the M. V. International in a warm afternoon glow. The motor rumbled below as the wind swirled our hair, nearly stealing our breath. One of my kids looked across the bench at me and beamed. There’s nothing

August 2018 There are natural playgrounds popping up all over the city. These playgrounds tend to move away from the colourful plastic of traditional playgrounds and blend in more seamlessly with the environment around them. They offer loads of opportunities for kids to explore and think outside the box, sometimes with
