It’s time to embrace fall! The mornings might be crisp, but the weather is usually nice … at least some of the time! Hopefully, the kids are excited to get back to school (even if it’s just to see their friends again) and there are new opportunities for amazing extracurricular activities. The Cochrane Lions Club Rodeo runs over the Labour Day weekend, from August 30 – September 2, 2024. Don’t miss the classic parade on Labour Day Monday!

It’s time for pumpkin farms and corn mazes, and the Calgary Farmyard Corn Maze begins Harvest Lights and pumpkin lovin’ Fall Days starting on September 13, 2024. Both events will run until the weekend before Halloween, weather permitting.

Farm Fun
ALL MONTH | I grew up in the country, but have lived in cities my whole adult life. My kids, on the other hand, are born and bred city kids. One time, we went to a corn maze and one of my children (who will remain nameless to protect the ridiculous) exclaimed, “I didn’t realize it was actually corn!” Sweet mercy. Whether your kids are country kids or city kids, we have a list of places your family can get outside and experience fun on the farm.
Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes
ALL MONTH | Fall is fleeting in Calgary, so you have to make the most of the season!
